A planning application has been submitted to Melton Borough Council to request permission to demolish an unsafe building in Wilton Park in Melton.

The former Pavilion Tea Room building has been deemed structurally unsafe and now the lander owners, Melton Mowbray Town Estate, have applied to Melton Borough Council planners for permission to demolish it.

Application 24/00392/FUL which was validated last Monday states the charity wish to demolish the building which dates back to the 1950s.

The application states that the building is now structurally unsafe and cannot be used as a café any longer. The application also says the building is on the point of collapse.

The consultation expiry date is set for Thursday 19th June.
