Melton Borough Council has launched an investigation after rubbish was dumped along a rural lane in Melton.

Rubbish, which was dumped at two locations on Lag Lane between Melton and Thorpe Arnold, was discovered by a dog walker last weekend.

A spokesperson from Melton Borough Council said: "Our Safer Communities team promptly attended the scene last week after this fly-tipping incident was reported to us on Sunday 22 January.  The waste has been cleared and after retrieving evidence, an investigation has commenced."

iPad and phone cases were within the pile along with documents and business receipts.

It's not known whether they are connected to who disposed of the rubbish.

The MBC spokesperson added: " Fly-tipping is a crime and it is taken seriously. If you see fly-tipping anywhere within the Borough, please contact us by using the form on our website."
