Police are searching for the driver of a car who refused to stop in Oakham earlier today and later hit a police officer. The incident happened in the area of High Street in Oakham on Monday afternoon after two police officers on foot patrol approached the car to speak to the driver who was parked illegally. Bridge replacement project remains 'on schedule and within budget' say Council as one year mark passes

Police have confirmed that a helicopter seen above the Melton area yesterday was being used to locate a suspect who fled after reports of a vehicle being damaged in Stoughton in the Harborough District. Families pay tribute to women who died in A46 collision
The families of two of the three women who died in a collision on the A46 have paid tribute to them. They died following a single-vehicle collision on the A46 in the early hours of Saturday 13th December.
