A yellow weather warning has been issued for most of the UK which will include the Melton Borough.
The warning is in place from just after midnight tonight until 06:00 on Thursday morning.
Heavy rain is forecast for most of Wednesday with the chance of localised flooding in places.
The yellow rain warning says to expect that some communities may be cut off by flooded roads and spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There's also the possibility of delays or cancellations to train and bus services and homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.
Tonight's forecast from the Met Office is Staying rather cloudy with a few showers continuing through the evening. Cloud then thickens from the southeast during the early hours of Wednesday. Rain following into eastern parts around dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Tomorrow will be rather breezy, with rain spreading northwest through the morning, turning heavy and persistent in places. Heavy showers more likely further south, with some drier intervals. Feeling rather cool. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
