Armed police respond to welfare call in Melton

Two boys who were arrested after armed police were spotted in Melton Town Centre this morning (Wednesday) have been released with no further action.


Police were called following a call reporting a concern for a youth‘s welfare yesterday evening and located the man this morning in the town.


Initially in the interest of police and public safety armed police were deployed. Two 16 year olds were arrested earlier today.


This evening (Wednesday) a Leicestershire Police spokesperson confirmed that the two 16 year olds arrested were released with no further action.
