Detectives appeal for help after assault in Melton which left victim with broken jaw

Detectives investigating an assault which left a man with a broken jaw are appealing for witnesses to come forward.


It happened in St Mary’s Way, Melton, between 2am and 3am on Saturday 4th September. The victim, a man in his 20s, was assaulted by two men. One man headbutted him, while the other punched him in the head.

Following the assault, the victim left the area but was later admitted to hospital. No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident and an investigation is continuing.


Detective Constable Sophie Young said: “This assault happened in the early hours of this morning close to a nightclub – therefore I believe there are members of the public who will have seen what happened.


“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and who is able to provide information that could help my investigation.”
