Enquiries conclude after possible collision near Melton

Leicestershire Police have confirmed that their enquiries have concluded following a potential collision near Melton.
A woman called police, reporting that she thought she had hit a cyclist. She was travelling towards Leicester, from Harby, at around 9pm on some rural roads. She was driving a black VW Golf.
Officers and volunteers from Leicestershire Search & Rescue have been patrolling the area since to try and find the potentially injured person, but to no avail.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson confimred today (Thursday) that the search was concluding.
The Force spokesperson said: "Following a report of a possible collision in the area around Melton, officer enquiries have concluded.
Specialist officers have carried out extensive searches in the villages around Melton following the report, which was received on Sunday evening (3 August)."

The 51-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the report and has been released pending further enquiries.
DS Jack Cornick from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “There have been specialist officers searching the areas around Melton over the last couple of days, and their extensive searches have not found any trace of a cyclist.
“Our searches of the area have concluded.
“If anyone does have any information, please contact the force via the website, quoting incident number 766 of 3 August.”
