The 76-year-old also faces a charge of alleged harassment without violence between December 2025 and February 2026, the force added.

Allnatt was elected borough council leader in May 2023 but announced on 2nd April he would be stepping down from the role due to ill health. However he still sits on the council representing the Melton Egerton Ward.

Allnatt is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on 14th September.
