Major parking change coming to local airport from TOMORROW

East Midlands Airport are making major changes to their rapid drop off area from tomorrow, 1st May.

Instead of paying on exit at the barrier, the barriers will be removed and visitors have until MIDNIGHT the following day to pay the £5 charge for their drop off visit.

If no payment is made, you will be issued with a fine however the Airport has not confirmed how much this will be.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Castle Donnington airport said: "We are pleased to announce that East Midlands Airport is introducing a new barrierless system at our Rapid Drop-Off. This change is part of our commitment to enhancing the travel experience for all our passengers.

The barrierless system will streamline the drop-off process, making it quicker, more convenient, and stress-free. You will no longer need to stop at a barrier. Instead, you can drive straight through Rapid Drop-Off and pay your charges remotely. This change will significantly reduce waiting times, improve traffic flow, and enhance the overall passenger experience at East Midlands Airport.

The system is similar to those in operation at other airports and in settings like tunnels, toll roads, and bridges you may have used.

The barrierless system will be introduced from Thursday, 1st May 2025.

You can set up an account and add your vehicle registration and payment card, which will automatically process payment after each journey through Rapid Drop-Off. Payments cannot be made before your visit.
