Melton fire crews attend out of control bonfire

Firefighters from Melton Fire Station were mobilised to an out of control bonfire this afternoon (Tuesday).


Smoke could be seen across town with residents concerned of the cause.



A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: "We were mobilised at 4pm to an out of control bonfire affecting fences. On arrival it was a large fire involving settees and waste. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet has been used to extinguish the fire."


No casualties were reported in the incident and the crew sent a stop message at 16:30.
