Nottingham Road resurfacing closures planned

Work is being carried out to resurface the A606 Nottingham Road in Melton which will see the road closed and a diversion in place.


Work is planned to start on Sunday 3rd October 2021, weather permitting, and will last for approximately two weeks.


A statement from Leicestershire County Council said: "To enable our contractors to safely carry out the works we need to temporarily close A606 Nottingham Road in phases."


Weekday night-time closures will commence between 20:00 and 06:00.


The planned phased closures are:


Sunday 3rd October - Road will be closed from 07:30am - 17:00 and will be closed from Pera Business Park to The Crescent.


Monday 4th-Friday 8th October and Monday 11th-Friday 15th October. Night working and the road will be closed from 8pm to 6am between The Fire Station and Pera Business Park. Access will be maintained for Sainsburys until 10pm.


Sunday 10th October road will be closed from 07:30am - 17:00 between The Fire Station and the junction with Asfordby Road.

A Signed diversion route will be in operation while the road is closed. Outside of these times the roads will be re-opened to road users.


Leicestershire County Council ask residents to ensure suitable provisions are in place to avoid the restrictions between the times stated above.


They added: "During the construction of the scheme it is inevitable that some disruption will be caused, we apologise in advance for any inconvenience."
