Police appeal after pedestrian injured in non-stop collision in Melton

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was seriously injured following a non-stop collision in Melton Mowbray.


The incident happened at around 3.40pm on Sunday 2nd November on Kirby Lane and involved a pedestrian and a vehicle, believed to be a small beige car, which failed to stop at the scene. The collision occurred close to the junction with Kirby Road.


The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was left injured and later found by a man, driving a white delivery van, who took him home.


He later attended hospital where he remains receiving ongoing treatment.

Officers from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information.

We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, the events leading up it or anyone who may know who the driver is of the vehicle which failed to stop.


A spokesperson for the force said: "We would also like to speak to the van driver who stopped to assist the pedestrian as he could also have information of significance to our investigation.


Alternatively please let us know if you have any dashcam footage which may have captured anything relating to this incident."
