The A607 at Thorpe Arnold will be closing from Wednesday morning at 6am to allow for another roundabout to be built for the bypass.

In the latest round of major works for the new relief road the main Grantham road will be closed until 22nd June to allow for the latest roundabout to be incorporated in to the main road network.

As well as this closure an extension has been granted for the closure of Spinney Road as roundabout works in that location have over ran. Access is only available to Twinlakes Park from the Melton side with no further access to Scalford.

Spinney Road will remain closed until 14th May due to '3rd party works' over running which means that road closure will overlap with the planned Thorpe Arnold one.

A spokesperson for Galliford Try who are managing the project said: "Unfortunately, due to a delay involving 3rd party utility works we now expect to reopen the road on 14th May. This does mean that there will be a period of overlap with the upcoming A607 closure due to commence on the 23rd April."

"There will be separate diversion routes in place for each closure and we will ensure that they are clearly signed. Twinlakes theme park, businesses and properties can be accessed from the direction of Melton and the existing diversion will remain in place. Access for residents and businesses on Melton Spinney Road will be maintained. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will make every effort to reopen the road earlier if possible."

The A607 will be closed from Thorpe Arnold towards Grantham and to the golf club if travelling from Grantham. The official diversion is via the A1. Woodfold Lane and Freeby Lane will also be closed to traffic.

Saxby Road will then be closed for overnight works following the completion of Thorpe Arnold's roundabout.

Information has not yet been confirmed on the upcoming closure of the A606 Nottingham Road for the final roundabout works, however this is reported to be taking place between July and September 2025.
