Thieves with 'hammer' take cigarettes from Vale superstore

Police are investigating after a robbery at a store in the Vale of Belvoir.


Police were called to the incident just after 10:30 this morning (Wednesday) to The Co-Op on Grantham Road in Bottesford following reports of a suspect with a hammer.


The person then left the store with an unknown quantatiy of cigarettes.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "Police received a call at 10.33am today (Wednesday 12 March) following a report of robbery at a store in Bottesford.


“The suspect entered the premises in Grantham Road and threatened the staff member with what has been described as a hammer before leaving with a quantity of cigarettes.


“Our investigation remains at an early stage. No arrests have been made."



“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting 25*144044.”
