Enteries open for this year's Hamilton fun run

Entries are being invited for the 2024 Hamilton Fun Run which will take place in August.

The 5k run starts at 11am and people of all ages and abilities are being urged to enter and encouraged to walk, jog or run the route.

This year's event takes place on Sunday 18th August and will start and finish at the Hamilton Tennis Club on Tennis Avenue in Melton.

The fun run will coincide with a family fun day starting at midday being organised at the club with lots on offer for families including bouncy castles, cake stalls, a pop up shop from Melton Sports and the opportunity to try Pickleball.

There will be live music on the day too from local artists Katie Rose and Steve Wallbanks in the evening during a brief stint in Melton from his residency in Benidorm.

Proceeds from the day will go to the British Heart Foundation which has a special significance for organiser Patrick Wainwright who had successful open heart surgery while preparing for organising last year's event.

He said: "I am walking the course this year to raise money and its a great opportunity to give something back for the fantastic care I experienced. So please come and join me for the run or just come and enjoy the day and help us support this great cause.”

Entry forms and Sponsor forms are available at the Hamilton Tennis Club and at Melton Sports or contact Patrick Wainwright at patrickwainwright@btinternet.com or call or text 07940 279165.
