Fire crews scramble to tackle garage fire in Vale of Belvoir

Multiple fire crews are dealing with a garage fire near Bottesford.
Leicestershire Fire & Rescue were called just before 1pm this afternoon (Friday) to reports of a domestic garage involved in fire.
Four fire crews are in attendance including one from Melton Fire & Rescue station as firefighters work to control the fire in this hot weather.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire & Rescue service said: "We were called to a domestic garage fire on Main Street, Normanton, at 12:59 this afternoon. Four pumps are in attendance, including one from Grantham Fire Station (Lincs) and Bingham Fire Station (Notts), plus Melton and Birstall Stations.

This is an ongoing incident – motorists should consider using alternative routes, and local people in the area should close windows and doors due to smoke.
Fires can spread extremely quickly in the current hot, dry conditions, so please could members of the public be extra vigilant, not take any risks with barbecues, cigarettes or other ignition sources, and dial 999 if they spot a fire in the open."
It's understood Leicestershire Police are also in attendance at the incident to help with road closures.
No injuries have been reported at the time of publication.
