Man arrested after emergency services descend on Melton street

A man has been arrested following an incident in Melton last night.


Police and fire crews were mobilised to Harvey Street, Melton just after 6pm following reports of a man causing damage to a property.


Two fire appliances from Melton Fire & Rescue Station were mobilised as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Shortly after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 May), police were called to an address in Harvey Street, Melton following a report a man was causing damage inside a property.


As a precaution, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service was also asked to attend.


A 64-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill."


Police have confirmed that he remains in custody and enquiries are continuing.
