Man arrested as woman left in serious condition following collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and any dash cam footage after a serious collision involving two cars near Normanton-on-the-Wolds on Saturday.
The incident, which involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Mokka, happened on the A606 Melton Road around 8.20pm yesterday evening (Saturday 27th December 2025).

Nottinghamshire Police say that the driver of the Astra, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment where he remains in a stable condition.
His passenger, a 24-year-old woman, is also in hospital having sustained serious life-altering injuries.
Her current condition is described as critical but stable.
The driver of the Mokka, a 34-year-old man, was checked over at hospital but has since been released.
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson said: “This was a serious incident and our inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We would really like to hear from anyone who witnessed this collision or any drivers who may have recorded dash cam footage relating to the incident and the vehicles involved.”
