A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Asfordby Hill on New Year's Eve.
Police were called to South Street in Asfordby Hill at around 9:20pm on New Year's Eve following the incident. East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.

A 27-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds during the incident and remains in hospital.
32-year-old Romil Vanderbeek of South Street, Asfordby Hill has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon following the incident on Saturday evening.

In a statement, Leicestershire Police said: "A man has been charged following a stabbing in South Street, Asfordby. Romil Vanderbeek, 32, of South Street, Asfordby, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon following an incident in South Street at 9.20pm on Saturday 31 December.
A 27-year-old man sustained a number of stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where he remains."
Update: Following an appearance at Leicester Magistrates Court on Monday 2nd January, 32-year-old Romil Vanderbeek has been remanded in to custody to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 20th February 2023 on both charges.
