Police respond to injured girl at Melton school

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after becoming injured at a local school.
Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service attended John Ferneley College in Scalford Road, Melton at lunchtime on Wednesday afternoon.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: ""Just after 12.45pm police were called to a school in Scalford Road, Melton, following a report a teenage girl was injured.
"Officers attended with the East Midlands Ambulance Service. The girl was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing."
A number of emergency vehicles were spotted at the school on Wednesday afternoon.
Police confirmed that a third party was not involved in the incident.
