Police and Council officials have been out in Melton and Rutland tonight testing alcohol purchases for underage drinkers.
Out of around 12 shops visited in the Melton Mowbray and the Rutland area, 1 shop served alcohol to the 16yr old test purchaser.
In a post on their Facebook page they wrote: “The Police and the Council will now be ‘working’ with the shop to educate the owner and their staff around challenging the purchase of alcohol. We will be doing more of these checks in the future!”
