Replacement retailer confirmed for empty Melton unit

It's been confirmed that Poundstretcher will be moving in to an empty unit in Nottingham Street following the previous owner entering administration.

The group will move in to the former The Original Factory Shop unit at 39-41 Nottingham Street and are recruting for staff.

Founded in 1981, Poundstretcher has a network of over 300 stores across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Original Factory shop closed their doors in April. Challenging trading conditions combined with ‘an alarming drop-off in pre-Christmas footfall’ led to owners, Modella Capital announcing at the start of the year that it had initiated insolvency proceedings.
