Fire crews called to make vehicles safe following collision

Two fire appliances from Melton Mowbray Fire & Rescue Station were mobilised to a road traffic collision this morning.


Fire Control received a call at 09:03 to reports of a two vehicle collision on Saxby Road in Melton Mowbray near to the junction with Richard Close.

Two crews from Melton were sent to the incident to make the vehicles safe and assist with a fuel spillage on the road.


A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Spokesperson said: "Two appliances from Melton Mowbray attended.

The incident involved a car and a 4x4 no persons trapped. Crews were liaising with police to recover the vehicles. EMAS attended and casualty advised to self-present at hospital.

Incident has been handed over to the police."


The incident was closed at 10:26 and Saxby Road was reopened.
