Police are searching for the driver of a car who refused to stop in Oakham earlier today and later hit a police officer.

The incident happened in the area of High Street in Oakham on Monday afternoon after two police officers on foot patrol approached the car to speak to the driver who was parked illegally.

The car was then driven off towards the officers causing one to mount the bonnet.
