Two people arrested after multiple people assaulted in Oakham

Two people have been arrested as detectives continue to investigate a report of assault in High Street, Oakham.


Police were called to High Street shortly before 1.30am today (Thursday 11 July) following a report two men - aged 19 and 21 - and a 30-year-old woman had been assaulted.

The 19-year-old man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.


Two men, aged 22 and 21, have since been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They both remain in custody at this time.


A spokesperson for Rutland Police added: "Enquiries into the incident are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 24*409862."


The road reopened just after 3pm this afternoon.
