Women arrested following police warrant

Police carried out a warrant yesterday in Melton Town Centre resulting in the arrest of a woman.

A number of police officers were seen in the Rutland Street area yesterday carrying out the warrant.

A Leicestershire Police Spokesperson said: "Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 1 September) officers executed a warrant at in Rutland Street, Melton Mowbray.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested and subsequently charged with theft from a shop."

The woman was due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday).

The charge relates to an incident in Melton on 22nd August.
